About SatsangVidya
We are a small circle of students of the shastras. We are still learning ourselves, and we made SatsangVidya so that anyone who wishes to understand these texts can sit with them for a few quiet minutes each day.
Why we began
The Bhagavad Gita, the Mahabharata, the Ramayana and the Niti of Chanakya have guided families across generations. Yet many of us grew up hearing only fragments. We wanted a gentle, honest way to walk through them from the beginning, one small step at a time.
Each course is offered in Hindi and English, with the original verses shown and cited, so that you can always return to the source.
What we hold to
- Trust before cleverness: every verse is cited, every script is reviewed, and we say plainly where AI is used.
- Devotional respect: the texts and the traditions around them are treated with reverence, never as entertainment.
- Works on any phone: light pages, audio-only mode and captions, so a slow connection is no barrier.
- Small daily steps: about ten minutes a day, because steady practice matters more than long sessions.
- Seva spirit: the first lecture of every course is free, and learners who cannot pay can be sponsored by others.
What we are not
We are not a substitute for a guru, a temple or a living tradition. We do not offer chat with deities or sages, and we do not claim authority beyond the texts themselves. If something we say is wrong, please tell us; we would be grateful to learn.
